Most times with a new print head you need to draw ink into it manually. If you can hook a syringe up to the line that runs to that captop or just hook the syringe with a bit of tube to that spot and draw ink into the heads. From there you may need to do several reg cleanings to charge the head...

Ok.... But it will take a while... how long should I hold it out there? I will try to print off a couple samples of the same file on both the solvent and waterbased and strap them to the fence. See what gives in a few months.

You are right that if this way works and the color is still within the customers desires then it will be less steps. But there are times when that method may not work and thus the reason for a second layer.

That could be an issue. I guess if a person did a test and measured it you could adj the print in the feed direction by a small % amount. From there record that info and use when dealing with the same media.
