  1. wall wrap material

Ij180 removes easy enough. Removable wall wraps fail. That simple.
  2. Graphics Question

When a client does not have a vector .pdf, or .ai file, I first ask them for it, and explain the files they provided are not usable in the large format environment. If you do not have one of those two file types I will be happy to redraw the file for a fee. Usually $47.50, unless super...
  3. How would you make these table style signs?

We try to stay in our wheelhouse with things that we manufacture. Otherwise, I become a sign broker and markup someone else's specialty, while still providing the signage our clients need. It saves loads of time to continue selling, without being bogged down by the sign making process. We...
  4. Boat/Marine decals

I redid my Mercury Decals on my bass boat with IJ180cv3/8518 a few years ago. They still look brand new and went on well, no problems. Make sure to use a cast vinyl and UV cast lam.
  5. Display lightboxes - would anyone use static cling as only printed graphic layer

Print on clear, lam with white backed vinyl, apply in reverse on clear using rapid tac or a similar product. The result is your print, behind a clear acrylic, backed in white (your diffuser). Makes for a nice presentable product. I hope this helps.
  6. Wall mural on tile - wall of pain?

Use a cast vinyl with a cast matte lam. I prefer 3MIj180cv3/8520. Take a "scrap" panel and go give it a try. This gives you a chance to see what you might need to do on the printed one. Give it a go. All jobs feel a bit scary sometimes. All you can do is mess it up. Then apologize and do it...
  7. Raster and Vector Image Customer Rant

I don't fool with this much. It eats too much time and effort. When I get a .jpg or .png. I ask the client for a .pdf or .ai file. At that same time I send it to my vector guy who charges me $12 to vector a simple logo. I add it into their sign cost at $47.50 and keep moving forward. This...

  10. Hiring a business coach

If your looking for a business coach, it's a sign your struggling. It's going to be an extra expense so why? Organize yourself. We use Trello.com (free) with columns for each employee, each job has a job card with picture. We also use a 4x6 3 month erasable wall install calendar. Last, spend...
  11. Vehicle Panel Inserts

Fellers has an new product called "Digicut" it is made for PPF, basically templates for cutting shapes. Also, Thebadwrap.com has templates of cars and sq foot calculators. I haven't the need to use the Feller's product, but use thebadwrap.com regularly. Saves a lot of time estimating.
  12. Encapsulating Hot Lamination - Problems

Looks like a few things. Could be mismatched materials. I am not familiar with either product. Is this a calendared with a cast material. Or this match of materials is just that cheap. I hope you charged double, so you can pay for the second round of prints. Especially with these types of...
  13. Printing 70/30 Solvex Perf on a Hp Latex 360 - dry ink areas

Looking for some experienced ideas to what may be happening when we print perforated vinyl. Our machine has been recently serviced by HP and is running wonderfully, that is, until we print perforated vinyl. When printing perforated vinyl there are dry marks that look like banding, but running...

  15. 3M IJ180 delaminating on contoured areas?

Looks like it may have been damaged at install. It's a pretty deep tuck. Also the lack of care (pretty dirty) doesn't help. Then again what do I know?
  16. Spraying liquid laminate

We used to roll it on but then found Clear Shield Satin spray lam in an aerosol can. One of those gold nuggets It's easy, no mess. You control the coverage. The Satin sheen helps see your coverage when applying. No glossy finish. The paint smell when applying is about the worst of it. Dries...
