Welcome to Signs101 Shouldn't be hard to find someone in your area, have you tried these guys?
  2. Recommended Router Bits

Onsrud, Belin, & Armana have been great brands for me. Carbide Spiral O Upcut bits are worth the cost over plain steel bits, as they will last much longer & cut wonderfully. downcut bits aren't that great unless you've machined a "valley" around the perimeter of the shape you're downcutting...
  3. Mimaki Converted to Chinese Printer

I'm only experienced with the original machine you converted, and the original Epson printheads that were built-into it. whenever I had that level of haze on a printhead, I replaced it and the problem went away. i would be inquiring with the printhead/conversion supplier as to why these "brand...
  4. Mimaki Converted to Chinese Printer

nozzles appear to all be firing but the Cyan & Magenta appear to have a haze of ink around the pattern that could be causing your graininess.
  5. Souvenir Swash?

"Um waiter, I asked for NO SWASHES with my Lobster & Prime Rib. kthx"
  6. Time for a new printer

I print & cut on separate machines, which I think is still the optimal workflow. buuuut for anyone dead-set on a combo setup, anything and everything from mimaki has always made my pants shrink.
  7. Question Reflective Vinyl Peeling

yup, on black reflective vinyl lettering that was applied to sign panels a day or two after it was painted. curled corners & perimeter of ALL the 2-4" lettering on twenty or so double-sided 3'x4' sign panels. no laminate. so source of failure was entirely limited to paint & stock reflective...
  8. Question Reflective Vinyl Peeling

heck, even autobody paint will declare 60-90days before you can wax a new paintjob before giving proper time for paint to cure. A bit much for sign purposes, but I'll usually give it a solid 3-4+days for reflective depending on time of the year. reflective vinyl traps solvent gases that...
  9. Channel Letter Trim Cap Size HELP

only issue I see is that your screw may be closer to the face and create a shadow...if anything. still the same stuff and the extra 1/4" of material doesnt extend the life of the other 3/4". 2" trim cap exists for a reason, but I'm pretty sure its just for aestetics on large/deep letters.
  10. Double Sided Laminate

crop marks, like registration marks for print&cut? you re-mark the marks atop the white, after laminating the white layer, before you cut. photosensor doesn't know the difference between the black lines made by your printer or the identical black lines drawn with a fine point black sharpie or pen.
  11. Double Sided Laminate

its printed on clear adhesive vinyl, in reverse, and laminated with white, and applied to interior facing-out. (any CMYK printer) or its printed on clear adhesive vinyl, in reverse, with blockout white print over that, with regular color print over that, and then laminated with clear, to make a...
  12. Alternative Channel Letter Mounting Solutions

i'd also be worried about attempting to mount any structure to a fascia, where the client has potentially demanded the contractor assemble the building without using any mechanical fasteners.
  13. Production file release for "mock-ups"

screenshot saved inside of an AI file or a suitable design fee for your production files.
  14. Alternative Channel Letter Mounting Solutions

something that big would need a massive raceway/wiringpanel....which would require drilling the wall as well. if they're hellbent on it, you could easily install some framework with minimal holes either from the roof or through the wall, but they're hmm & haww'n their way to a $5-10k+ upgrade...
  15. 3M Materials Shortage

yikes, just checked it.... 11-16days estimated arrival. ordered two rolls a month ago and they came the next day, hope these get me past this supplier-slump. just checked, and Fellers has Arlon DPF6000 in stock, NGlantz would have it too.
  16. Need Help Newbie - Cast Overlaminate loading

i setup my web by peeling from the liner that's already attached to the liner take-up, then pull it down & under/through the pinch rollers, and then tack it to the backside of the laminator....thus creating my "loose web", and then at this point I lightly twist backward on the laminate feed roll...
  17. It's true, you crazy Canadians are too nice!

as stated above, don't believe the media... if not for gun ownership, Japan would have invaded the United States after Pearl Harbor, but that's a rant for another day. its my understanding that you can video tape anyone doing anything as long as its a public space with no reasonable...
  18. Omega-Bond or Bebond?

Nglantz' BeLine has yet to disappoint. No experience with their ACP, but I can't imagine there being much variation in longevity between brands considering its an .030 aluminum sandwich with plastic core.
  19. Question "hardest" pvc product?

thinking outside of the box here, but if you REALLY need some dense plastic then check out HDPE or HPL (good brand with laminate/color options: trespa).
  20. How to properly align graphics on a car?

parallel to key body lines > level with the ground. prove me wrong but i can wrap a car in a closet if I needed-to. There's no "standard", but you have the ability to see it on a computer screen before you even hit print. So use that time to declare which body lines you're intending to follow...
