  1. What to measure to when doing a wrap.

This is great! LOL Seems we are not the only ones in disagreement with technique. Seems like everyone has their own method. This only strengthens my position on this issue, at least in my office - I feel that if it "looks good" then it is good. And thats the best I can put out there when it...
  2. Work done by my shop

:ROFLMAO: The things some people will pay for to put on their automobiles.
  3. What to measure to when doing a wrap.

So you follow the body lines?
  4. What to measure to when doing a wrap.

When doing vehicle wraps, cars, trucks, vans, ANY and ALL wraps, what do you guys and gals measure to. Do you prefer lettering and imagery to be horizontal to the eye via a level or do you measure to body lines and contours? Do you change your technique depending on the vehicles or do you stick...
  5. Work done by my shop

This is creates a much cleaner, sharper final product in wraps. it does take some time, an hour or two but in the end it really makes a difference. We did two HHRs for the same company. They wanted them both done in at the same time, so we subbed one of them out to another local company. When...
  6. for guys who have done boats

When it comes to lettering on a boat wrap, I have heard to do it as a secondary application. Apply your wrap, let the body curve it as it wants without fighting it. Then apply any lettering after that any where and in any angle you want. Kind of a cheat but it seemed to work for us.
  7. Front Windshield Banners

Is there any sure way that fits most vehicles when it comes to creating, cutting and installing cut lettering windshield banners? I have heard of upward arcs and downward arcs to counter the natural arc of the window. What works best for you out there? Currently I have a job for a...
  8. JV3 Cleaning Cartridges

Thanks for the tip - I'll check it out. FYI - We switched from Mimaki Inks to Lyson/Nazdar straight through, no wash out. And we didn't see any problems. However I personally think the Mimaki Inks look better. I haven't been all that impressed with the Lysons color quality. But I don't make...
  9. JV3 Cleaning Cartridges

Ok - so we FINALLY got the cartridges from Lyson/Nazdar. Now how do I run them through the lines and through the head. I've tried emailing our Mimaki Tech and he hasn't responded. Does anyone out there know the procudure or have a quick link to a step by step process. Is it in the manual, cause...
  10. Problem with window perf

Are you using the Curvalam or the economy lam? We don't even use the economy lam any more because we've had soo many problems with it not staying down. I don't know if its a tension thing in the process of lamination and is resulting in the pull up or if its just the product...either way.
  11. Fast Signs

Brand recognition - people see and "know" Fast Signs, SignOrama, etc. They assume b/c its a big company/franchise that they "know signs." Its about you getting out there and showing customers that you are just as good and better then some corporate identity. I think customers want and respect...
  12. contour cut vinyl started to curl overnight??

We see that problem when we do a quick print and cut and let it sit out too. Because we have noticed this, the only time we do a quick print and cut is when we are applying it right away. Like in your case, I would've waited until today, or whenever it was gonna be installed, to cut it and mask...

  14. Game On: If you laugh you loose!

Now that ^ was funny - :ROFLMAO:. I didn't find it funny either, if you did laugh, then you have a unique sense of humor - plus does anyone else think he was lip "singing" his mouth movments to the las and los weren't in sync. How poor quality filming too. I wonder if other countries look at...
  15. Bow Rod

Doesn't look like it would hold anything larger then the fish caught in the demo video ie: blue gill....
  16. need a source for boat wraps information

I love it. :ROFLMAO: We/I am attempting my first boat wrap this month too. I'm looking forward to it, but I am expecting it to be a doosy of a job considering the unique shapes and movement of the object. Hopefully I won't screw it up entirely!
  17. Who did this one?

This one is even funnier then the Gas man...oh vinyl humor, only a select few can really appreciate it.
