  1. Pro Colour inks from ALL GRAPHIC Supplies?

Anybody have experience with the third-party "Pro Colour" inks from ALL GRAPHIC Supplies? In the 4 years of owning my Roland SP540i I've never used anything other then OEM ink, but at half the price, these inks are tempting.
  2. Do I require a new K head?

Well I just got a new head, and all's well. Nice to have a good dot-pattern back, instead of the dreaded lines. ~$1500.00 - ouch. The tech said that this occurs from the higher carbon content of the black ink, and not necessarily from head-strikes. I had notified my original sales rep/tech...
  3. Do I require a new K head?

The caps were changed not too long ago, but I don't think the dampers have ever been changed in 4 years (light use).
  4. Do I require a new K head?

How do I get/print that report? Don't I have to be in the Service menu or something?
  5. Do I require a new K head?

And does yours print black fuzzy?
  6. Do I require a new K head?

I see. No, all is good there. Again, other colors print clean, but the black is fuzzy. I just now received this from a local tech: "Black side of the head is deflecting, for small print you will see blurriness, I would say 80% of the heads I change are black heads, for this reason. You can...
  7. Do I require a new K head?

I'm not sure what you mean by stray, but on any vector file, it's simply fuzzy around the edges, and only on the black.
  8. Do I require a new K head?

I'm experiencing some fuzzy edges on K-only sections of prints. I've done a manual cleaning and 2 medium machine cleanings, as well as printing a large rectangle of K, and the "soaked swab pressed gently on the head" routine. Problem remains. Does this mean a new head? (This was printed on...
  9. Flat sheets of photo paper for solvent printing?

No, because I suspect that they wouldn't have paper designed for solvent inks.
  10. Flat sheets of photo paper for solvent printing?

I've found that the curl remains and is a pain, so I'm wondering if a flat stock is available.
  11. Flat sheets of photo paper for solvent printing?

I'm wondering if there is flat-sheet photo paper available for solvent inks (Roland Eco Sol Max). I'm thinking a size like 13"x19" or 24"x36" or something like that.
  12. RVW hangs when ripping a Tiff

I suppose that in order to take advantage of the wider gamut of Adobe RGB and ProPhoto RGB, one would need to use a printer that has more than just the 4 CMYK cartridges. I think that some of the true photo printers (Epson et al) have up to 14 cartridges.
  13. RVW hangs when ripping a Tiff

The 16 bit was the problem! Curious about results with different colour spaces and file types, I printed the following 8-bit photograph files (6”x9”): ProPhoto RGB JPG ProPhoto RGB TIF Adobe RGB JPG Adobe RGB TIF sRGB JPG sRGB TIF They all worked in RVW. There was no discernible difference...
  14. RVW hangs when ripping a Tiff

No, but perhaps I should - thanks.
  15. RVW hangs when ripping a Tiff

My thinking is that once the file is saved as a Tiff, all the "native" stuff becomes irrelevant. I dunno. Yes, this is the workflow I described; or do you mean just some generic PS file saved as a Tiff? I haven't tried that. I'm not sure if I'd get the same quality from a PDF. This is a...
  16. RVW hangs when ripping a Tiff

My RVW is up to date, yet whenever I attempt to Rip a Tiff file (photo), it goes to 2% and hangs. The file is from the following workflow: - Raw image file opened & processed in CS6 Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). ProPhoto RGB colour space - 16 bit. - In Photoshop CS6, image cropped to desired size...
  17. Weird problem with Chrome

Thanks; yes, there was two Google pages listed, so I deleted one. Unfortunately the issue of the Favourites list disappearing remains.
  18. Weird problem with Chrome

Further on this, I've discovered something which might explain this (but still unsure how to correct it). When I click on the Chrome icon in the bottom/left of my screen, the Chrome browser window that appears, has two tabs for Google (my default page). I'm pretty sure that before this problem...
  19. Weird problem with Chrome

Yes. So that I don't do something erroneous that causes me grief, could you walk me through that?
  20. Weird problem with Chrome

That's a good idea, I might try that. I'm not sure though how that addresses my present issue.
