A printer with moving media can not print ADA is not a true statement. The Direct Color Systems printer has a moving bed and will print ADA signs. We do not use them but have seen them run.
Yes all lights will degrade over time. We are talking
about LEDs at 10,000 hours vs mercury bulbs at 500 hours. LEDs also produce less heat so they can put out a stronger wavelength to cure inks better without having the concern of heat warping the material.
When it comes to curing ink a light bulb just isn't a light bulb. Over time they lose the power which in turn does not cure ink. That is why they have a life and most printers now are LED.
Zund has/had a software package for making boxes/displays. Its pretty pricey but well built. We had it for a year with our Zund and liked it but just did not use it enough to justify the yearly fee.
The EFI is a R2R hybrid machine. The difference is it uses a vacuum belt feed system instead of pinch rollers. In my opinion with using both types or systems the vacuum belt is better for substrate. He mentioned printing on styrene so I believe the EFI would be a better option. Yes the EFI...
Look into the EFI Pro16h. Does not have clear ink but does have white. It is a belt fed hybrid which is best for substrates where the Mimaki is pinch rollers.
I would be very cautious about using any chemical other than a cleaning solution/flush provided by the manufacturer. Other chemicals could have a reaction to the ink and cause it to harden or gel up. With all of our EFI UV machines we use the flush they have for cleaning the head plates and...
We run the EFI 24F which is the model right under the 30F. I love this printer. We had the first one installed as part of the early adopter program. Been running it for a couple years and it has been great.
you can cover the registration marks with a small piece of masking tape. After you apply the white carefully cut the white vinyl where the masking is and remove the tape which will expose the registration marks. Another method would be apply black vinyl where the dots are over the white. I...
I was one of the first to have a JFX200 as we ordered it before any were shipped into the states. I will say they are a great machine. They are slow but the print quality when we had ours was good. We just had to upgrade to a faster machine to keep up. If I had room I would have just ordered...
Be careful on what any brand says they can do in 1 hour. Typically those are at max speeds that do not print at a quality you would want to use. We run a EFI Pro24F Flatbed and a EFI Pro16H Hybrid. I use the flatbed way more than the hybrid. We have the hybrid as a back up for boards but...
We run the Zund software where you send the layered files to Prep Center. Prep Center then creates the print file and cut file. The files are saved in hotfolders and the cut file shows up right away on the cutter.
We ran a Summa for 15 years. When it finally crapped out we went with Roland. Worst decision ever. We quickly sold it and got another summa. I would go with the tangential blade for small letters. We run a drag version on our 64" Summa but we are not cutting small letters on it.
EFI 16H is what we have and its been a great printer. Had it about 1 year. White is very opaque and print speed is good. I would stay away from a pinch roller system as it will give you headaches. Vacuum belt is the way to go. The Roland and Mutoh are not good ways to go for UV printers.
All depends on location. 3'x5' banner stitched with grommets retail is $52.50 for me. That does not include any art. I would love to be able to charge more but I lose a crap ton of bids because people are selling banners at $2.00/sqft (3'x5' for $30.00) out the door.
UV print will not stay on a golf ball for more than a few holes. Even if you could rotate the ball to where the club head is not hitting it there will still be impact from hitting other objects like cart paths and trees. By the rules your not supposed to rotate your ball in the fairway and...
We had a 1625 and they use Toshiba heads with a liquid cooling system. I hated that machine and we had a ton of problems with it. EFI took the machine back and we upgraded to the 16H and it has been great.
