Try new cards, otherwise it is possible that the cartridge holders/sensors may have been damaged during shipping. How far did it travel?

I think tbaker has the right idea. That spring (clip) tension is a bit touchy, bend it up a little.

If you have ink in the dampers and some missing nozzles it is time for a head soak.

Have you cleaned the encoder strip? Could be connector cables?

It is possible that the lock mechanism is bent, so it is not meeting the carriage at the correct place. It is also possible that it is not releasing properly when the carriage returns. Can you take a couple of good pics of the lock mechanism?

The 4100 should have been an indoor machine with aqueous inks. So there will be no profiles for eco inks.

My latest firmware for that machine is 3.00.

The Mutoh bulk system is designed for the Blizzard and Spitfires and still uses carts.

A cleaning should only be a couple to a few milliters per cycle. Something less than a teaspoon for all colors combined.
