Printer pricing has plummeted since the release of the XC540. Also, the XC540 had a max resolution of 1440 x 1440 whereas the TruVis only has 900x900. So objectively, if you are printing on the highest resolution all the time, the TruVis is a step backwards. That being said, technically the head...
They stopped making parts for that machine many years ago. Your best bet is finding used parts on Ebay or someone on Signs101 might have a machine they are selling parts from.
Comparability mode can help with software issues but if you check the "Run as Admin" box below those options, it will open as admin all the time. If you don't, the program doesn't recognize the CutContour spot color.
I would start by changing the cap top and dampers. They are periodic maintenance items that wear out over time. Once that's all in there, run a cleaning cycle and watch the waste tubes to make sure ink actually flows during the cycle. If not, the pump might be clogged or need to be replaced...
Did you change the dampers along with the new head? So you see any air bubbles in the ink lines? A good way to test it out is to swap the two magenta damper positions and see if the issue moves or stays the same. That isolates where the issue might be happening.
Gotcha. I would look around to see if anyone is selling used parts for that machine on Ebay. Otherwise, the only way I know how to get that part is the $595 route unfortunately.
I agree with Gino. Clean the encoder and make sure the sensor is clean and straddling the encoder without touching. Also, what does the test print look like?
That part only comes from Mutoh as an assembly with a bunch of other parts for $595. I can tell you though that, unless there is physical damage, that part shouldn't go bad really. You might just need a new cap top. What's the issue with the machine?
$360 from Mimaki and last I checked it was on back order. See if someone is selling a version on Ebay or something. You can upgrade to the latest version from there.
I sell heads into solvent and dye sub machines and this is about right. The same head with solvent inks will last 3 to 5 years where the dye sub head will fail in a year to 18 months.
