I'd agree with just using a knife, if its just one piece, however if there's a bunch of them to do, it can definitely save time to put cut/weed lines in! Personally, I just make some quick rectangles around the sections of text I want to have weed lines - then when I go to cut, I select all...

I got one for a 1204 from macmedia.com He actually switched me over to an Epson head, which was close to half the price of the original mutoh. Great guy to deal with too.

you could also try www.macmedia.com he's got way more stuff than he lists on his website, and is a great guy to deal with.

I had a similar problem a while back. Did all kinds of "adjustments" and used different profiles, trying to work around it... In the end, I had some cyan nozzles not firing - a new print head was the only solution (and been good ever since) This did show up in the nozzle checks though.

I think it depends what you want to trim? For substrates as light as coro but up 3mm Alupanel - I recently got a Fletcher FSC. It changed my life.... I just sorry I waited so long to get one!

I use Xara myself, but I don't like their upload features/program either. I just "export" my website - then use Coffee Cup (free) FTP program to upload all the files to my site. Generally pretty painless.

I have a VJ1204. Mine was doing exactly the same thing about a year and a half ago. I found if I fully powered it off (off / unplug / push power button discharge capacitors) it would reset and clear. Sometimes I'd have to try 2 or 3 times. Then it would work fine for a few days.... or 20...
