  1. Deflected nozzles?

Deflected nozzles are unrecoverable, I experienced this 6 months ago and also performed the usual cleans and captop replacement and head soaks. But no change. My Roland tech explained to me why these aren't recoverable and this was also backed up by another experienced roland tech from the...
  2. Roller Blind Material

Just seen the Roller Shade Clutch Kit 72" Long and I have the exact same kit in use in my bathroom. Its a 59" (150cm) and cost me $15 AUD after Xmas sales. I'm planinng on pulling this down to try out. I've contacted a few suppliers here and waiting to hear back from a few. May even consider...
  3. VS 540 Dropping K channel during print

I was also thinking of an electrical problem may it be the head cable, head board or even fuse. But don't know how the VS boards are configured / built. Have you tried swapping the Black head cable with another colour just to see if the K channel fires up? If you happen to try this out, I cannot...
  4. VS 540 Dropping K channel during print

I can understand the frustration with this issue. Although I have an SP540 I also had lost my yellow due to me knocking out ever so slightly the yellow head cable. Totally different set up having 2 heads though. I swapped the head cables around just to see if this fired up the yellow and it...
  5. Roller Blind Material

Hey Guys, Had a customer inquire about having their business logo printed on a Roller Blind to cover the inside of an office. I've seen this done before but not sure what material was used. I'm assuming the roller blind would be a block out type similar to the one I have in my bathroom and...
  6. Installing GX-640 as Printer

Was your old computer a 32bit? And new computer a 64bit? I run an older Roland cutter on a 32bit pc and set up the cutter as a printer. Just like what your thinking of. I installed this by going in to printers then 'add printer', locate the Roland cutter driver and install. Hope this helps!
  7. Laminating Vinyl EFX smooth silver printable vinyl.

I have a job coming up that requires this material to be printed on for a Hot Rod. The supplier recommends that I don't need to laminate this (why?), I do not know why and they just say it doesn't, but it's entirely up to me. I've never printed on this type of media before and I would definitely...
  8. Roland CX500 and Wndows 8 problem

I run a CX24 on a windows 8 32bit pc and cut directly from illustrator. When I upgraded my pc to a 64bit, I tried everything I could think of to get this cutter to work on this platform. Tried the GX24 drivers but to no avail. Tried using different software with existing drivers, set up the...
  9. Fine banding line in Cyan after 6 Month Maintenance

nozzle test Thanks for the reply guys. Nozzle test attached. This began a week before the service was done and I surely thought it was a semi blocked damper. The new damper made a slight improvement but still evident. Im thinking of replacing the new cyan damper with another new one. With...
  10. Fine banding line in Cyan after 6 Month Maintenance

Hi All, I have spent hours reading through many posts that relate to the same issue I am experiencing. I just had the captops, dampers, serge mist sponge, wipers etc.. replaced. New rubber O'rings were used, drew ink in to the dampers with a syringe when all was replaced and even drew ink...
  11. Need a tool belt/pouch, recommendations??

I use an Avery tool belt. Holds everything i need, but in the end the squeegee is in the back pocket, the blade is in the front and the belt is on the ground. Lol Avery does the trick for me.

  13. SP540V Depearate, need help....

I had a similar issue a week ago and it was all due the linear encoder strip. My prints drifted and i could'nt get a decent print. Just make sure you dont have any dust, dirt or even vinyl covering the sensors on the front and rear platen first. This may cause the remove sheet error. (I kinda...
  14. SP540v Carriage not connected, encoder strip & sensor cleaned now printing off!

Ok. I think I've fixed the problem. Well so far so good and I've printed a few meters. I'll note down exactly what I did for those who may come across the same issue as I had. First I cleaned the top half of the Encoder strip, both sides with Isopropyl alcohol using a swab, then used a dry swab...
  15. SP540v Carriage not connected, encoder strip & sensor cleaned now printing off!

I cleaned the strip with isopropyl alcohol. I just performed a Limit Initialization and run through a print. The first half metre printed out perfectly and the colour was spot on but the last half went off again! Im gonna flip the encoder strip in the morning and see how this goes. Is...

Has anyone experienced this before and what steps did you take to correct this issue? I've cleaned the encoder strip and also the sensor that reads it, but now my prints are off and some parts are blurry. It's Saturday night and I have some orders I need to get done. I've been printing since...
  17. Static Cling Experience

So I received a test sample of some Static Cling material (avery) and after reading through numerous posts of other member's experiences (good and bad) I decided to try it out and see for myself. After playing around with a few different settings the outcome was excellent. No runs, no smudging...
  18. Roland BN-20 - Tube & Bottle System

Well done David! Thanks for sharing.. Luckily for me my waste goes straight into a bottle. But I applied this technique to my desktop epson photo printers. Works a treat.
  19. What do you use to clean a matte wrap?

I've wrapped part of my car in Avery Matt Black also I use normal car washing detergent to wash it and use a Meguiars quick wax spray over the vinyl. The finish is brilliant, removes all marks and any rain or water repels right off.
  20. vinyl cutter

I picked up a used Roland CX-24 several years ago for $400, still to this day I use it constantly. Bullet proof it is and it can also read crop marks. Unfortunately it only runs on a 32bit system. Wish Roland writes drivers for this to suit a 64bit system!
