I was recently tasked with laminating 100s of 12x18 digital prints with Briteline mounting film.
I came up with a very quick solution. It worked perfectly, which I did not expect. Not a single one was bad.
Thought I would share in case it helps anyone else.
If you have any questions, just ask!
I use the 500 bit. Works great.
If you are cutting parallel to the flutes you can use the universal knife. Much faster, but never cut across flutes with it.
All this talk of buckets and tag lines makes me realize I've been doing this wrong.
We just bring our scissor lift over, 2-3 guys in the lift. We grab the sign, raise the lift, and slide it in.
Wind can be terrifying(and always seems to pick up as soon as you attempt any install like this...
Sign regulations can be very persnickety. The city I live and work in has so many rules that roughly 90% of signs do not conform to regulations. Technically, A-frames are not allowed as the standard signacade we sell constantly is 2x3 ft of signage per side, which they count as 12 sq ft of...
I recently was reading through a YouTube comment section on a video about printing and laminating signage. So many people were amazed that it took more than "pushing a button" to create prints/signs.
So many comments akin to, "Oh wow! I thought they just pushed a button"!
I was very gentle.

You may need to remove the carriage cover.
If so, just remove these 4...
What is the issue with your colex?
I have fixed/solved many problems and I am sure plenty of other people here have as well. We may be able to save you some time and/or money and give you a quick fix.
Every time I see a ticket come in that says "customer supplied art" I know it will have problems, and likely severe ones. Our design department screws up enough and they are legit designers. Clients have absolutely no clue what we need to print well, with a few very very rare exceptions.
What are your settings? I prefer a 532 6mm bit, when the cut allows a larger bit. Seems to last much longer and give a cleaner cut.
These settings work best for me:
Spindle Speed - 11,000
Plunge - 13
Feed - 28
Max depth per pass - 0.060
Clockwise cut(climbing)
Assuming the bit is in good shape...
The toughest laminate I have ever used is General Formulation 238 "Moto Mark". It is crazy thick and quite tough. It comes in 75 foot rolls because of how thick it is. It is pricey, though. We have a client that doesn't care about price. They wanted to most durable decals known to man. They are...
Works fine on the HP FB550. Infact, I have had zero problems. The HP latex 300/500 series printers will carriage strike sometimes, so I never print mesh on them.
This.
I manage a pretty large sign department and the only employee who has stuck around more than 6 months is a guy who almost never does installs(he assists me on more difficult jobs), so he doesn't have to deal with all the headaches. He has been here close to a decade now. Everyone else...
