  1. Issues with wrinkles in the film while printing

What's your curing temperature? 110C? If so, my guess is that's too high. On our machine 110C will blister materials. It blisters the vinyl and the backer. We have to come down to 103-104C to stop the blistering. I don't know if that's your issue or not, but you might try running it with the...
  2. Please help! wrap print distorted (puckered?) prior to laminating

Maybe try a heat gun to see if it makes it flatten back out? I doubt it will, but it's worth a try. The heater probably got it back the point where it's memory is broken, so it's new shape is probably what you're seeing, but I'd try it before I started over.
  3. Anyone know a source for these?

Thanks, I've tried Home Depot, Lowes, and about 10 suppliers that I can think of. It's all just molded plastic. We can make the bottom piece, but I can't find either piece. I think if we find the match for 1, we'll find the other piece. It's for an existing community that already has a number...
  4. Anyone know a source for these?

Thanks Guys! I didn't see them on any of the sites listed. I see very decorative pieces, but nothing with just the bevel on the top, and I don't see the bottom piece at any of the sites. I have the posts, I just need the plastic pieces. Maybe they are on the sites listed, but I can't find...
  5. Anyone know a source for these?

A while back we were asked to replicate a sign like this for a different property. We used PVC and fabricated the piece at the bottom. They had sent photos with dimensions, etc, so it wasn't too bad to fabricate and paint. When we installed the project, we saw one of them that had been there for...
  6. needing to locate, and re-install profiles to output from Flexi to L25500

Doug, here's the link to the IJ-180. You have to enter your region, then your printer, then the RIP and it'll come up for download. http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Graphics/3Mgraphics/ToolsAndSupport/ColorProfileSelector/
  7. Need some help from the print masters!

I'm starting over and building a profile from scratch. Right now, I have faked the color way off to make it print close to what I need, and I can get through this job, then tonight, I'll start creating a new profile and see if that fixes everything. I'm just puzzled at how we went from "doing...
  8. Need some help from the print masters!

I am currently using Relative Colorimetric with spot color tables turned on.
  9. Need some help from the print masters!

I have gone up to 12 passes.
  10. Need some help from the print masters!

That's exactly what I am doing that's not working. My workflow has been : 1. Design in Illustrator, using Pantone color. 2. Save as PDF 3. Open in Onyx 4. Select Media 5. Print But that's not working, all my blues are going way purple. For instance, a blue like used in this forum header...
  11. Need some help from the print masters!

After noting the fade that was in the preview, my thought process was that the preview was right and it was printing exactly what was in the preview. Why the preview image was hazy, I don't know. So I found the file in the Onyx directory and opened it in Job Editor, and RIP'd it. The preview...
  12. Need some help from the print masters!

What would the other RIP be? Only one I know of that works with the latex is Caldera, right? I do have a Mac that I can run that from, but it's not the same machine we're running Onyx from. I'm downloading it now and I'll see if I can get it to work.
  13. Need some help from the print masters!

I've opened a case with HP, I've sent all the info and they are waiting for their engineer to get in. He had me do a manual print head alignment, which I thought some of the settings were way off, so I'm sure that was good to do anyway. I'm not sure why the preview in Onyx looks washed out...
  14. Need some help from the print masters!

What's interesting to me is that the preview in RipQue looks just like it printed, meaning it appears to have the haze in the preview as well. Take a look....
  15. Need some help from the print masters!

Yes, last week I had a Cyan head go bad.
  16. Need some help from the print masters!

Yes. Spent time with HP tech support on the phone, they said I needed to clean and oil the rails. Not sure how that is causing color issues, but I did that and nothing changed. Called Onyx tech support, they logged in, uninstalled Onyx, installed it again, setup a couple of presets, and we ran...
  17. Need some help from the print masters!

No, it's still present if I'm using RGB. If I change over to CMYK, then it goes away, but it's still there in RGB files.
  18. Need some help from the print masters!

I've done that, twice. I've also changed from IJ 40 to a Oracal product, changed to the profile for that, and it's doing the same thing. I've tried 2 or 3 IJ-40 profiles, some we made, some from 3M's site, IJ-180 profile, and now the Oracal material, all have the same issue. If I have an...
  19. Need some help from the print masters!

Yes, the machine 3 times, the computer the RIP is on 4 or 5 times, and the desktop I'm creating the files on a couple of times. I have some notes from a color management seminar I went to that says if you have the rendering intent set on Saturation, it pulls out of gamut blues to the purple...
  20. Need some help from the print masters!

Thanks for the input guys. I've gone down the rabbit hole now and it's beating me badly. No matter what I do, when I send over blue (pantone blues), they come out vivid purple. I've tried RGB and CYMK, I've tried about 10 different pantone blues, and no matter what I do, they come out radically...
