Most of what I've seen are decals and labels. A lot of wine labels in my area, because of the white capability and gloss/varnish top coating. They are a special kind of printer and most of my UV roll printing customers have had solvent printers already and are expanding their capabilities.
Only slightly related, but be aware that Mutoh has let its distributors know that they will only guarantee ink with 2 months shelf life left on their UH21 and VJ-US11 inks. So, distributors will have to reduce their stock levels on the shelf and you may be getting ink that needs to be used...
The pinch wheels will leave a static charge on the vinyl (different vinyls will react to static differently) and any overspray can get attracted or repelled by the charge depending on the polarity of the static charge.
Higher humidity in the shop generally dissipates static faster than a dryer...
Ruam,
There is a concept I call learning fatigue that after a customer reaches this point, they no longer learn anything or will forget earlier things that were taught to make mental room for what their learning now. Even the fastest learner will reach this point at some time during the...
Yes, since the reg marks sit outside the graphics, you do loose some width. It's been some time since I've done that. To set it up, Click on the Print Options (123 Icon), then click on the Targets button and select Graphtec Type 2:
Hi Julie, it would kind of depend on what you're planning on cutting the most. If you primarily do cast and calendered vinyl, the speed of the EV375 is a big plus. The settings that are controlled from the software are helpful as well. If you tend to cut more difficult materials like...
The better question is how does it look with softproof on compared to how the printer prints the same image. Softproof is generally a good thing, but in order for it to work, you need to make sure that your color settings are correct in Flexi - they should match what you have for job defaults...
In my experience, if it copies over to a new file and works, then the original file is corrupted. That's the first thing I try when I have problems like that. Save the new file and ditch the old one.
+1 for your environment. Temp between 70 and 89 F and Relative Humidity between 40 and 60%. (BTW Vander, from what I've seen static almost always affects cyan pigments first. If it's really bad other colors can be pulled off course, but cyan seems to be the most vulnerable.)
Also check your...
We just set up our first SG3 that's going to our customer tomorrow. Once I had all the calibrations done on it and sent a test print, I was impressed with the print quality for a 4 color printer. I like the perforated sheet cut feature and the new control panel makes it a lot more user...
That's the first thing I thought of the belt or carriage appears to be loose. Or the blade holder isn't secured properly. Or the blade holder bearings are wearing down.
Also, make sure that the floating sprocket and bail move very easily. They should be cleaned and lightly oiled so they can slide back and forth to compensate for slight variations in the punch width. If you have some genuine Gerber punched media - vinyl or paper, hold it up to the stencil and...
Looks like your printing a rich black, which uses 4 colors so there's more buildup in the black than the other colors. I don't know of an easy fix for a raster image. If this were vector art, you could specify the black to just use black ink. Someone else may have other ideas for the raster...
