  1. Real estate skid signs - PT lumber or not?

There's a post here somewhere when I made my first sign and people posts pics of examples. Ya - I thought you weren't supposed to paint PT the first season? At least up here "my Dad" always tells me I have to wait to stain my fence or whatever else I make at home out of PT. Wasn't sure if that...
  2. Vinyl Sign Graphics Pricing

I also do materials x2 plus labor. You should also have a minimum installation cost which includes one hour at XX and then XX per hour after that. Don't forget that with installation it takes time to pack up the signs, gather any tools or screws/nuts, etc. The pricing table is a great idea...
  3. Real estate skid signs - PT lumber or not?

I use Gino's template, similar to what Texas shows. I use PT but never had to paint any yet.
  4. Shipping Boxes

Are people using boxes for pick-up orders also? For pick-up orders, I use clear bags from Uline that are 12"x30" and 6" bags for decals. I buy 1,000 at a time - lasts a couple years and they are super cheap. Almost every single order I do, including smaller shirt orders goes in that bag. I cut...
  5. Snipping Tool

IDK guys...I think using the mouse is quicker with the snip tool for quick snips. Two Questions: 1. I tried the Green thing, is there a way to put it on the tool bar? I do like it but it's an extra step because it's in my hidden icons. 2. For the Snip tool, in Windows 11 after I copy...
  6. Printer/Cutter vs. Stand-alone Cutter

I usually only print small quantities of banners in house. Problem with these was I got the file the night before the first school meet. Just trim and add 4 grommets, no hemming on those thank goodness! I use Signs365 for banners otherwise. Quick turn around.
  7. Half lettered trucks sold rant

I was kinda it was you also LOL!
  8. Printer/Cutter vs. Stand-alone Cutter

Just yesterday I had 12 banners to print, a 4' sheet of decals to print and about 24"x 8' of cut vinyl. I printed the decals then switched over to the banners. While the banners were printing I was able to laminate and cut the decals then do my cut vinyl job...works well for me to have 2 machines.
  9. printing on oracal 651

Well if that isn't a perfect example of gtpChat, not sure what is...
  10. Half lettered trucks sold rant

LMAO! This is probably the worst case scenario, but, at any rate, a perfect example of why it should be removed before selling!
  11. Snipping Tool

I use the Snip tool daily, many times usually - the Windows one. I'll have to check out Awesome Screen Shot!
  12. Reflective Vinyl Banner Materials

Never heard of it but a quick google search shows me this... https://unisignflex.com/reflective-banner-material/#:~:text=Reflective%20banner%20material%2C%20also%20known%20as%20reflective%20printable,an%20ideal%20choice%20for%20outdoor%20advertising%20%26%20promotion.

  14. Half lettered trucks sold rant

Nothing irritates me more than someone selling their work vehicle and they don't remove the lettering. The new guy takes off JUST ENOUGH so the name isn't on it but the tag lines are - this makes the old business look BAD!!!!! Just drove in and saw "The Glass Gurus" old van running around with...
  15. Where should logo go on passenger side?

LOL just cut vinyl. I sent the final proof via text yesterday morning. It was a rush job so we had talked about it last week. Funny. This customer liked the first version of the logo, first version of shirts and the truck.
  16. Artificial Intelligence Art Generation

Interesting! I do notice you can sort of tell if it was AI generated. I think the "human" factor is missing. They seem to be very matter-of-fact without "feeling". I imagine that will get better as time goes on and harder to spot!
  17. Printer/Cutter vs. Stand-alone Cutter

I have a separate cutter. I can tell you that MANY, MANY, MANY times I am printing large graphics or banners for several hours and then sending other jobs to the cutter at the same time. I'm SUPER glad I have 2 machines. And I'm just a one person shop. I can't imagine a larger shop with a bigger...
  18. Vehicle tailgate badges/stamps

I literally just finished removing a badge. I heat up then use fishing line behind it moving up and down - usually comes off really easily. To remove the sticky crap I use the eraser wheel.
  19. Artificial Intelligence Art Generation

I hadn't thought of recipes! I can just see it...put peanut butter on nose then wipe on bread...
  20. Where should logo go on passenger side?

Thanks all! Just finished the job up and went with number 1 as the customer said. Looks great!
