Yeah, a body shop guy I used to do work for gave his wife an older Camero he completely restored for her birthday. He wanted to get her a vanity plate of "Pretty Girl". But that was too many letters so he shortened it to "PRTYGIRL".
When he unveiled the car to her she loved it. When she walked...
We get this all the time as well. Especially with military contracts. They are very particular regarding what they want without being in any way specific in their drawings or spec sheets. They wait until the last minute and then we have to alert them that there is not enough specifics to quote...
When I started making signs one had to have a can of paint & a brush with the talent to make letters with the brush. There were no computers to aid in any part of the process. Since, I've learned to use computers for much of the design, printing and general output and have been in awe of that...
I lost a set of about 10 smaller brushes that way. I left the tin brush case open overnight in my basement and when I came back the next day all I had left was handles, mouse turds and footprints.
Auto kerning gets them close. But like everything else, if you enlarge something the mistakes get bigger too. Auto kerning works ok for the most part at a small size. But when enlarged, as in the letters for a sign, those small inconsistencies get bigger and easier to notice.
Just my 2 cents.

Found some at Amazon in the link above. $36 per roll. Looks like quantities are limited. Otherwise it's about the same as the Feller's price everywhere...
My son wraps daily. One thing he uses, and swears by, but I don't see it here is 3M 5151 glass cloth squeegee tape. He wraps the squeegee edges with the tape. He says it glides over the material without scratching. Fellers sells it for about $100 a roll.
Something you can't tell through accounting methods is in what shape is the customer list. Meaning, I'm certain there is a list of customers. Are they happy customers, did the previous owner get jobs done in a timely manner? I know a shop around here that is winding down. It's been in business...
We printed over a half roll of DPF8000 in our HP8000 solvent printer. The adhesive made a big mess. We printed one 12' long print and the adhesive caused a head strike by bunching up. The solution for that was to relieve the pressure on both outside pinch rollers so they didn't squeeze out the...
The problem lies in the way Illustrator handles text in a formal manner. The bounding box around text includes the "em" and the "leading". This makes the bounding box extend above and below the text giving a false size in regards to the actual height of the type. I've searched the Adobe forums...
I just talked to Chuck Lazor from Kapco this morning. He sent me an email of a product they have which is a very strong adhesive and he says is good for low energy surfaces. Doubt you wanna buy a whole roll for just a cooler but the info is:
PSA 3.5 mil Semi-Gloss White BO Vinyl Gray High Tack...
The thing I don't understand in some of these conversations is that if you wrap something without overlapping aluminum panels you're going to have overlapping printed panels anyway and no one seems to mind. Why the big deal on a trailer?
I saw a business North of Canton, Ohio that was "Plumbing and Glass". Since I was working as a glazier at the time I thought that a strange combo. This might beat that though.
Still not sure about the phone number.com thing.
Blue Highway is all I have. It's missing the curvy parts on the "R" leg. I don't have a Swiss Cn. Only Swiss 721 Ex BT so I can't check that. Otherwise it is close. I don't have Folio Medium Condensed either. Only Folio Condensed and Folio Medium.
I'll check out all of those suggestions and if...
